We Welcome Mr. President

Today we were able to go see my new nephew be blessed. He is such a cutie! He was born on February 4. His name is Washington Ward Cox. The whole weekend Taya was calling him Mr. President. I like the nickname I just may keep using it (poor kid.) Mirinda was kind enough to amuse me and let me take some pix of the little fellow. The battery on my camera died. I was so bummed, but my little snapshot camera pulled through. With a little help from computer editing they turned out okay. He is such a cute monster any pictures would be cute.

Growing up I thought my brother was an alien. I was proved wrong when his baby was born with 10 fingers and toes.

Well, over all I aprove of the Little President. He has my vote!

Yippe!

It has been a month of moving furniture.
First I decided that I wanted another sofa in my living room. I looked all over for a sofa that would match what we had. The company that made our sofa went out of business so we were unable to buy another. We had one delivered but, I hated it so we sent it back. I thought Royd was going to kill me. Then we notices some scratches on our couch. We had a leather protection so we made a claim. They couldn't repair it and couldn't replace it so they gave us a store credit for the amount of the purchase. Cool right? Wrong! I couldn't find anything at the store I liked. My sweet sweet hubby let me get couches I do like from another store. He is so sweet (wait till you read the rest.) He said we can always save the store credit to buy something else we NEED later. I was sold. The next day he wanted to go to look at things at the store we had a credit at. We ended up coming out with a new TV! I think I have been taken advantage of. Oh well at least I got new couches out of the deal.

No one wanted to get off the couch for me to take the picture. Those couch potatoes!

What do you think?

I am still looking for a big square table in the center. I also need ideas for my wall with windows and the wall above the stairs. If you see anything let me know. Maybe I will have my whole house decorated by the time I retire. Yea right! I change my mind too much.

Love Ya

I Have Other Children Too

So, Royd was looking at the blog and said, "Do you only write about Dace. Is this his very own blog?" I think he is right I have been neglecting to give updates about my other children. So here it goes.

Taya, wants to plan the biggest birthday blast ever (as everyone knows she is my party planner.) I feel sorry for her because her mom is not very good at following through with her fantabulus plans. She will be 7 on March 22. What she doesn't know is that her mom has made HUSH-HUSH plans with cousin Jamie to get her a fabo gift.

Reese claims not to like wrestling but, is really excited to go to practice every Tuesday and Thursday. As expected is very good at it. He doesn't want to go to tournaments this year. He says he doesn't like to wrestle people he doesn't know. Who can blame him. He's had a thumb put down on him at school and he is not getting away with as much as he was. He has such mean parents.

Quade has had a big month of firsts. He had his first Valentines dance. He was not very excited. He did a mean Macerena (Is that spelled right? Where is a synonym when you need it.) His two step needed a little work. It looked more like a walking push across the floor till you hit the wall. I t tried to get some good blackmail pics but he was on to me. Every time I pulled out the camera he hid behind is partner.

Quade also has a couple of great cousins. Erica and Latara took him to Brianhead on is first attempt at snow boarding. He had a blast. Thank you Erica and Latara we owe you big time.

Well ,I hope my blog looks a Little more well rounded now. I also will get some real pics posted of these events as soon as I can. Yeah, I know you were all really impressed with Quade's skills.

I Think The War is Finally Over (Knock on Wood)

Well after 2 months of gruelling torture, I believe the war is over. Dace has decided to be a big boy and do the right thing, use the potty. He never really wanted to use the potty, he loved his diapers. We tried everything to get him to want to use the potty. I even acted like a fool dancing around the house singing every time he had a successful trip to the bathroom. We bribed him with candy and toys (like all good parents do.) It seemed that nothing was going to work. He threw a royal tantrum when I told him I was not going to buy anymore diapers. "You buy me diapers! You buy me diapers!" he yelled over and over. I was begining to feel that all was lost. I kept telling myself all would be fine if we could just get him potty trained before kindergarten.

I am glad to report it has been almost 2 weeks since his last accident. He has even been making it all night. I do believe the war is over. I just hope there are no belated battles. I cross my fingers that his aim is better than Reese's.

You've Had A Birthday Shout Hooray!

Dace just celebrated his 3rd birthday. He is growing up too fast. He loves to play with cars, watch Mickey Mouse Club House, eating chocolate, snuggling his mom, quoting Yoda, watching Mater and Ca-chow, and bossing his brothers and sister around. He lets people know what he is thinking by giving a thumbs up, or angry eyebrows. He has tonz of fun in his church class, and loves his teacher. He sings "Shake your Peanuts" (a Mickey Mouse song.) He has a funny sense of humor, and is always trying to crack a joke (even if we don't understand it.) His favorite game is Hide and Seek (he likes to be "IT".) He thinks he is as big as his brothers but, loves to be treated like the baby. You never know what name to call him. He is forever playing pretend and gives him self a new name. Lately he has been "Austin the Kangaroo." He loves to say "Dad pees his pants?" He is a little stingy with his smiles, but when you get one it melts your heart. If you ask him how old he is he says, "I'm free and a half!" We love Dace! We must have done something pretty special in Heaven to deserve the right to know this special little spirit on Earth.

Check out the slide show below. It is amazing to see how much kids grow and change every single day. They are small unnoticeable changes. Rarely do I look at my kids and think WOW! You grew last night. But, that is exactly what they do.

P.S. I love the digital camera.

What's In A Name?

Help me out. I don't like the title of my blog. It's not that I don't like our name. It's just as I look at other blogs they have cute little titles. Let's face it. My title is a snooze. Suggestions anyone?

Oh No It Can't Be!

Last month when I got my hair cut, the girl cutting my hair said she found a grey hair. I sluffed off her comment. My hair is very dark and if the light hits it just right the shine looks like a white hair. This morning as I was doing my hair it happened. I found a grey hair! It was not just grey, it was 6 inches of white, white, white hair. It was no reflection of light, although I was trying to tell myself it was. I pulled the hair out and stared at it. Can it be that I am getting old? Do I keep pulling the hairs until I am bald? Do I start coloring my hair? Whats a girl to do?

I am Starving!

I am so baby hungry! Everywhere I look I see ladies with bellies full of BABY! And I want one! (Yes, Erica I too love the exclamation mark!) I look at my lovely family and notice how big they are. I feel like I am graduating to a new babyless part of my life. These feelings may be brought on by the upcoming birthday of my baby. He will be 3 and officially "not a baby" by self proclamation. It doesn't help that I can only have a baby with serious help from a doctor. I thought I could pacify this need by holding others' babies. When a new baby is near you need to wait in line to hold it. Once you have it you need to guard against others trying to steal the baby from your arms. I never really bothered me before but, I have always had my own babies to fall back on. Now, I feel like growling at any who approaches. Taya's teacher just adopted a beautiful baby girl. Taya asked the other night if we could adopt two baby twin girls. When I asked her why, she said, "I told my whole class we were and I don't want to be a liar." I thought it sounded like a plan but, Royd shot it down. Alas,(sigh) I think I will have to come to terms with being babyless.

We Had SNOW Much Fun On NewYears

The Johnsons stayed with us for New Years. Sledding in the Pickering's field was the highlight.
