San Diego Baby

Yea! I have my computer back. It has been very difficult fro me to blog lately, because of the lack of the internet on my computer. But alas, technology is so cool, and for $30 I am up and running again.
I need to catch up on some of the fun we have been having. This year we went on our annual trip to San Diego with the Pickerings. We missed out last year, but were back on board for this years adventure. We left on a Friday after I got off work and the vacation began. We made really good time, until we arrived in Barstow. We stopped to eat dinner, and found out that I-15 was closed near Victorville. Thanks to technology again we were able to find an alternate route, which took us through the resort city of Big Bear. It was a fun drive up and down and this way and that. When we arrived in San Bernidino, we were luck to find the last hotel room due to the fire. We rested for the night. Then were up bright and early to make our way to the beach baby.

It didn't take long before we were sitting on the beach, with our toes in the sand, freezing. It was overcast and I was really cold. I put a shirt on over my swim suit, and got the worst farmers tan. Yes, you can still tan even if it is cold. I still have the remnants of that farmers tan. The cold didn't seem to bother the kids. They loved just being at the beach. Reese got in the water and we didn't see him until dinner. For dinner Royd got us a GINORMOUS pizza that couldn't fit into threw the door.

We had the opportunity to go to a Padre's game. It was super cool. The kids got free gum ball machines, and we were able to sit in the all you can eat section. The kids had more hot dogs, peanuts, pop corn, and soda than they could eat. Every on enjoyed the game. Dace even made an appearance on the JUMBO screen. The kids got to run the bases after the game.

We were also able to visit the Mormon Battalion. Were learned about church history, took a cool interactive tour, and panned for gold. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

The next day was quite cold again, but we didn't let it stop us. Reese was in the freezing water at 8 AM and didn't come out until 7 PM, except to eat. Dace build sand castle after sand castle and bombed them with sand bombs. That kid loves the sand! Quade started to learn hour to skim board, and Taya did every thing. We spend some time in the warm pool and hot tub.

Our last day on the beach was perfect, and worth the whole vacation. The clouds parted and the sun came out. It was warm, the waves were crashing, and we practically had the beach to ourselves. Due to the cold weather, and California schools starting, the beach was bare. It was perfect. We spent the entire day in the sand and surf.

We are totaly ready to again next year!
