The Season Is Over

We went to Dace's last T-Ball game of the season. It was classic. The pictures tell the story.

Babe Ruth watch out.

We Are The Champions My Friends

Quade was able to play on a Jr. League baseball team this year. They played in a St. George league. It was a lot of traveling to and from St. George. Arlan Simkins was a great coach for the boys. Royd was able to help coach the team again. They were a little worried that they would not be able to compete with the St. George teams, but they did great. I made it most of the games, so fun to watch. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the most exciting game of the season, the championship. The boys took the victory in extra innings (14-10 in 9 innings.) Royd said all of them played their hearts out, each player had a shinning moment. I was so sad to miss it, but I was able to steal a photo of the champs off Facebook.
Too bad they will never be able to wear these shirts again. They say "Snow Canyon League Champions" No way they could get away with that in Enterprise.

The Suprises of Growing Up

Last Saturday I had a couple of classic conversations with Dace. Lets just say he does not want to grow up to soon.

SCENE 1: Walmart Subway, Two missionaries walk into the store as Dace and I are people watching.

Dace: Why are those guys wearing church clothes?

Me: They are missionaries. They wear church clothes everyday.

Dace: (in a very whiny voice) I don't want to wear church clothes EVERY DAY of my life when I am 19 and 20.

SCENE 2: In the car, Quade has just asked for new furniture for his room.

Me: Quade your furniture is fine. I don't have the money to just go out and buy you new furniture.

Dace: You can have some of my money. I have a lots in my penny bank.

Me: That's okay buddy. You need to save your money for your mission, or a car, or for college.

Dace: You have to BUY college? (face goes straight into his hands)

Hate to tell ya son, it's just the tip of the iceberg buddy.

DACEISMS

I decided that Dace says so many cute things, that I ought to start writing them down. Here are two of the latest.

Scene: The morning of the last day of school. In wild rush to get to work on time. I walk into the living room to find Dace lounging on the couch in his underwear, hands behind his head.

Me: What do you think you are doing laying around in your underwear?

Dace: (without even giving me a glance) I graduated.

Enough Said

Scene: St. George Driving in the car.

Dace: Can someone roll the window down? I soak'n HOT!
