Well what do you know!

Royd's dog Heidi has been very sick. She has run away about 5 times in the last year. Every time she has been gone for about a week and came back in very poor shape. Maggie always goes with her and comes back a day or so before Heidi does. Last time they got out Heidi came back with a very sore foot. We had been babying her for about 3 weeks. She was so weak she would not move from her kennel in the garage (which is saying a lot for Heidi.) about 2 weeks ago she seemed to show some improvement, so we moved her from the garage to the back yard to get some sunlight. When we came home from work Maggie and Heidi were gone again. We were amazed that she would run away being so sick. One week passed and Royd was resigned to believing his friends were dead. There was no way Heidi could have survived. Then we had another hard snow to damper any hope we had left. The only thing Royd had to say was "I guess that is it. They are gone for good." It was very hard for Royd. Heidi was the only dog that was still hunting for Royd, and Maggie is dearly loved by the whole family.
Today will have marked day 12 since the dogs ran away. Royd received a phone call today from a man who picked the dogs up in NEVADA. Maggie looks great she had a few pounds to loose anyway. Heidi on the other hands looks like skin and bones. We'll keep an update on their condition.

A New Addition

I have such a sweet husband. I really wanted a huge tabale for my family room. I looked all over for one I liked. I found nothing that was just right. So what does my husband do? He makes me just exactly what I want. It is so cool! It is HUGE! He made it out of recycled wood from bleachers he torn out of the gym at the high school. He is a pretty handy guy to have around. (Yes that is Dancing With the Stars! I'm an addict.)

The Party Is Over

Thank you to all that attended the celebration of the year. Taya felt so special and loved. I loved it too. I love it when my house is full of people I love. I didn't even mind the clean up afterward. It was totally worth it.

The girls gave Taya a glam makeover.

Everyone helped Taya make her bed with her new shmancy bed cover (thanks Jamie!)
Doesn't this look like tonz-o-fun?

I Know So Much (Ha! Ha!)

I am a reality show junkie! I love to watch people loose tonz of weight on "The Biggest Loser", listen to artists get their big break on "American Idol", Dance their butts of on "So You Think You Can Dance", and stumble around on the dance floor on "Dancing With The Stars." But I don't think it brings out my best attributes:) I get overly critical of the contestants. I hear myself saying things like "What is she wearing?", "Poor song choice.","That was terrible footwork.", "Sounded a little pitchy.", "That was a mistake!" I sound like I think I am an expert.

The truth is I have no leg to stand on. I have no idea what I am talking about. I don't even know what the word "pitchy" means. I have never taken a dance lesson in my life (unless you count social dance in collage:) I could never do what these very talented people do. Even the wost contestant on the show does better than I would do. And here I am on the couch giving them my two cents (like they even care.) I guess that this is what these shows are about. Making you feel like you are an expert. Watching others squirm in the spotlight, and you having the power to save them.
The other funny thing about me loving to watch these shows is I NEVER VOTE. I always have strong opinion about who needs to leave, but I can never bring myself to be a part in their failure.
I guess what I really like about this type of entertainment is that it shows what people can do. A man can change his life by losing 200 lbs. A girl from a trailer park can win a Grammy. A football player can move gingerly across the dance floor. A girl can move so gracefully that tears form in my eyes. Ordinary people are talented.

Boy am I in TROUBLE

As everyone knows, Taya is a party girl. She loves going to parties, throwing parties, and hearing about parties. She always has party planned in her head. This month we will celebrate her 7th birthday. Last night she had out a pencil and paper planning her party. Then she did something that really scared me. She went to her dad and said in her sweetest voice, "Daddy, what kind of budget do I have for my party?"

Oh Boy! Am I in trouble!

George Jefferson

Taya came into the room doing this. I about fell on the floor and wet myself!

P.S. Don't ya love the outfit?

We Welcome Mr. President

Today we were able to go see my new nephew be blessed. He is such a cutie! He was born on February 4. His name is Washington Ward Cox. The whole weekend Taya was calling him Mr. President. I like the nickname I just may keep using it (poor kid.) Mirinda was kind enough to amuse me and let me take some pix of the little fellow. The battery on my camera died. I was so bummed, but my little snapshot camera pulled through. With a little help from computer editing they turned out okay. He is such a cute monster any pictures would be cute.

Growing up I thought my brother was an alien. I was proved wrong when his baby was born with 10 fingers and toes.

Well, over all I aprove of the Little President. He has my vote!
