I Think The War is Finally Over (Knock on Wood)

Well after 2 months of gruelling torture, I believe the war is over. Dace has decided to be a big boy and do the right thing, use the potty. He never really wanted to use the potty, he loved his diapers. We tried everything to get him to want to use the potty. I even acted like a fool dancing around the house singing every time he had a successful trip to the bathroom. We bribed him with candy and toys (like all good parents do.) It seemed that nothing was going to work. He threw a royal tantrum when I told him I was not going to buy anymore diapers. "You buy me diapers! You buy me diapers!" he yelled over and over. I was begining to feel that all was lost. I kept telling myself all would be fine if we could just get him potty trained before kindergarten.

I am glad to report it has been almost 2 weeks since his last accident. He has even been making it all night. I do believe the war is over. I just hope there are no belated battles. I cross my fingers that his aim is better than Reese's.

You've Had A Birthday Shout Hooray!

Dace just celebrated his 3rd birthday. He is growing up too fast. He loves to play with cars, watch Mickey Mouse Club House, eating chocolate, snuggling his mom, quoting Yoda, watching Mater and Ca-chow, and bossing his brothers and sister around. He lets people know what he is thinking by giving a thumbs up, or angry eyebrows. He has tonz of fun in his church class, and loves his teacher. He sings "Shake your Peanuts" (a Mickey Mouse song.) He has a funny sense of humor, and is always trying to crack a joke (even if we don't understand it.) His favorite game is Hide and Seek (he likes to be "IT".) He thinks he is as big as his brothers but, loves to be treated like the baby. You never know what name to call him. He is forever playing pretend and gives him self a new name. Lately he has been "Austin the Kangaroo." He loves to say "Dad pees his pants?" He is a little stingy with his smiles, but when you get one it melts your heart. If you ask him how old he is he says, "I'm free and a half!" We love Dace! We must have done something pretty special in Heaven to deserve the right to know this special little spirit on Earth.

Check out the slide show below. It is amazing to see how much kids grow and change every single day. They are small unnoticeable changes. Rarely do I look at my kids and think WOW! You grew last night. But, that is exactly what they do.

P.S. I love the digital camera.

They Grow Up Right Before Your Eyes!
