San Diego

We were so ready for our San Diego vacation this year.  We had been counting down for months.  We were fortunate enough to have the Palmers and Churches come with us.  It is always such a relaxing vacation, and so hard to come home.  As usual we spent the majority of our time chill'n on the beach, boogie boarding, building sand castles, wake boarding, being buried in the sand, and loving every minute of it.  We were also able to visit Old Town, the Mormon Battalion, tide pools, and Coronado.  I love to spend time with the family.  They are growing up so fast, and I want to cherish every second we have together.  Can't wait till next year.  Let the count down begin!

The Midway

It was time for our annual trip to San Diego.  We always have tons of fun.  We left Enterprise on a Friday afternoon.  We arrived in Oceanside, California late that night.  Check in for the condo on the beach in San Diego was not until 3 PM on Saturday.  We had a few hours to kill.  We drove down the coast, and visited the flea markets.  We were lucky enough to be able to visit the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.  The kids really enjoyed themselves.  The ship was huge, and I think we visited every last square inch.  We started on the top where we were able to see some historical aircraft.  They gave us headphones that upon prompting would tell us the history of what ever we were looking at.  Dace loved it. He was running form airplane to airplane learning cool facts.  We were able to see a helicopter that picked up the astronauts when they came back to the Earth.  The kids were able to sit in the captain's chair and pretend to man the ship.  The lower decks were just as exciting.  It really was like a floating city.  Doctor's office, dentist's office, kitchens, barber shops, sleeping quarters etc.  We learned a lot.  Dace, Taya, and Reese were exhausted by the end, but Quade loved every second of it.  He made sure we got to see everything.  We left in time to each lunch, check into the condo then we hit the beach.
You can call him Mavrick.
