Sum It Up!

This was our 3rd year spending Labor Day on the beaches of San Diego. We love this annual vacation. It is a nice break from the begining of the school year. Thank you Eric and LaDawna for letting us Join in on your party. This year the Johnson's, and Grandma Darrington were able to come with us. Here is a little sum up of why this vacation is a keeper.
Building "A Hundred Million" Sand castles, then wrecking them.

Fruits of Labor

The last week of school before summer vacation Royd brought me a present. He gave me tomato plants. I love fresh tomatoes. There is nothing better than biting into a garden grown tomato. They have a wonderful aroma, and a mouthwatering taste. I don't have a green thumb and I was so busy that week, they all started to die before I planted them. I didn't have a garden spot ready but, they needed to get in the ground and fast. I quickly threw the plants into the ground by the front door. I had very little faith that they would survive. But they did! They are beautiful green, bushy plants. I kept hoping they would produce beautiful tomatoes. Flowers have been blooming all summer. But alas, no tomatoes all summer. Until I spotted some red today. I was so excited what a wonderful after school snack.

Good thing I wasn't too hungry!
