Summer is Over? Where Did it Go?

Yes, it has been a while since I last posted. I wish I could say it is because I haven't had time, but that would be a lie. It is because I have been super lazy. Getting onto the Internet now takes me some extra steps (long uninteresting story you probably don't want to hear.) I have to be super motivated to do it, and I have lacked motivation this summer. The following will be a quick recap of fun things we have done for the last few months.

1. The first exciting thing that happened is that Grandma Darrington moved to Enterprise to live with us. Everyone has loved it! I feel so spoiled having her around it makes things run a lot smother.
2. Dace graduated from pre-school. He spent a lot of time this summer laying around in his underwear (heaven on Earth.)

3. Royd started a doctorate program at BYU! I am super proud of him. He is doing really well so far - can you say 4.0. He has to work really hard, but he is enjoying and is learning a lot.

4. While Royd was at BYU for 10 days, the rest of us spent a week in Idaho with my sister Amy. We ate ice cream, played on a rope swing at the reservoir, swam in the pool my Uncle Pete made, ate Popsicles, skipped rocks, some worked at the Deer Cliff Inn, and we spent a lot of time enjoying each others company.

5. We (minus Royd he was still at BYU) met up with Met, Maridee, and the girls, for a super fun day at Zion. We went on the River Walk. It was a very hot day, so it was nice to be able to cool off in the river. We enjoyed lunch at the Pizza Noodle, and Met treated the kids to a movie at the theater in Hurricane.

6. Royd was home in time to celebrate the 4th of July with the Johnsons and the Gublers. We feed the calves, roasted mellows, ate smores, watched fireworks, the kids enjoyed a movie and sleepover on the lawn.

7. I ran my 1st race EVER in the Enterprise 24th of July celebration. It was a 5K into town from the reservoir. I had so much fun. My time was 30:13 (not bad for an old lady.) I didn't stop once, and felt like I could have kept going if I needed to. Cross that one off the list. I am for sure going to try it again next year. When I reached the finish line Dace gave me a big hug and said "Mom, a bunch of little kids beat you!"8. Taya and Dace were able to be in the parade this year. They both had a lot of fun. That afternoon they enjoyed races, and the fireman pool finding coins and getting sprayed by the hoses

9. The summer ended with me starting a new job. I am now the staff developer at the school. It is a big change for me. I am going to work hard, and hopefully make a difference in the school.
